Someone like a warm cup of zeee someone likes it cold.Whould be boring to look at the same taste all the time or what :?: :D

After owning the one at the 2nd top for such a long time it was very standard and a UK bike, and i felt it should be kept that way.
With this one being a US KZ and with non standard paint i wanted to update the old girl but still keep it as a rider with the essential Zedness.
I rode these in the 70s/80s/90s/00s and hardly anyone kept them stock, they were modded as soon as they were out of warranty.
Anyway its a case of each to his own, and viva la difference

Exhaust changed to a Vance & Hines that i bought off MCZ900, Blue Job chrome polish cleaned up the head end and as the rear the rear mounting is different from the Z900 to the A1, a bracket had to be made to fix the rear.

Been running around between the rain with the bike as shown below at the Z40 bash at Silverstone, i had fitted a short zpower front mudguard as i diddnt like the fibre glass one as much as i thought.

I had been wanting a 4:2 for a while though, so some headers from paulstrees, shorty reverse cones from Ebay and some pipe made to connect the 38mm header to the 45mm silencers, i now have this.....

Makes a great noise! And i fitted some Koni Dial-a-Rides that i snapped up new off ebay

Really nice pipes Mark! those reverse cones give it an evocative
classic distinction...
How many time's did you get pulled over for
the reg. plate ?
I can't see what all the fuss is about with number plate's so long
as the number's are legal size and still readable from the distance
required !!

Cheers Jay, I got a friendly warning from the Polizia, nothing official,
Not sure if it gets you a fine or points but the black one is wrong size, wrong colour and wrong font  looks better though.

How about getting one made same as a legal sized one,
legal size letters and numbers,
but letters and numbers
in silver or white, with black background...? Worth a try?
Tell 'em it's a classic bike and you took it to a show and
haven't got round to putting the standard yellow one back on
if they pull you over again

I'd say deff go for powder coating the JMC Mark, more than worth any loss of 'apparent' bling as it will never again fur up, lol. All imo of course ;)

Your bike is looking great so don't worry a jot about the naysayers :D

Just make sure you ask whoever is doing the coating to carefully mask off the eccentric adjusters (inside face) and 'all' the spindle bolt holes. I know this to my cost :)

I've a couple of new JMC stickers kicking about if you go down that route.

John
