Hi Andy
This is what the nylon filters on your petcock should be like. Ask on here if they are missing - you might strike lucky... or motor mower parts stockist may be able to assist. If you rely on the metal strainer gauze inside the tap body on it's own it will get blocked. Might be worth checking that it is there and intact if the other two are missing.
Dont want any bits getting in those refurbed carbs matey.
Cheers from Mark

Lathe belongs to Tam my engine builder from Blantyre. I am away this week but will ask him next time I'm round.

Gave the Devil pipe away to someone off the site(Paul I think).

I have an Exhaust Craft 4/1 sat here ready to go. While I love the look of a 4/4 I'm hoping to use the bike quite a bit and think I would get too "precious" with a 4/4 as they don't appear to be that robust

Im trying to find a 70s devil for my gs750 , not much chance, My unrestored z1a has a marshall deeptone which I hate , although I have a matt black Harris somewhere I could bolt on., When I fitted my z1b with a replica 4-4 , I soaked the complete inside with old egine oil and then drained them prior to fitting, this burns off leaving a residue and helps protect the pipes from bluing as I think replica pipes are single skin headers. My friend whos into the classic car scene says that the old engine oil trick reducies the blueing on the chrome manifolds of the cars - so far no blueing !
