Thanks guys

I'm not in any rush but I'd like to have it ready for next spring

I used Mikey for the chrome and polishing. I reckon I paid an average price but got a top rate job, if that makes sense, with the added benefit of having someone with a vast knowledge of Zeds doing the work.

Looking great! Are those the shim clearances you've written on the camshaft caps? Not far off the mark if so given they were set offline so to speak.

So here's a long overdue update!

Life got a little busy after my last post, nothing earth shattering but the Z1B rebuild just stalled as more important(arguably) things came into my life. I kept buying and refurbing bits and with the help of a knowledgeable pal we started assembly last week

As with all rebuilds wee issues keep cropping up. Different fork cartridges in the forks, one correct the other from who knows where. The original air box that came with the bike and I was so pleased about has shrunk sat on the shelf over the years and no longer fits even after soaking in hot water etc etc.

I'm close to making decisions about brakes and shocks. I'm going for the "tastefully modded" look (Exhaustcraft 4into1 already here) so I'm thinking black ikon shocks and a single pretech caliper but interested in anyones opinions

So once again sorry for the delay but we are hopefully on the home straight

Yes looks awesome....don't worry about the delay, you want to get it all right.
As you say, life tends to get in the way...my project has been 3 years now

This is looking like a lovely build, but that caliper needs to be behind the forks if at all, just my taste.

Yes I think you're right but not sure I can swap it now. I think when I ordered it I had to specify which mount ie front or back
