What do you say to insult it Ratch?

Lol.

I get it now - I did want to use the frame as earth and minimise the cable runs as by earthing locally to loads but I'm pretty sure someone said bikes aren't run like this - as cars are.

Here's where I'm at. The main supply feed to the Motogadget is probably too thick - but fused top the correct amps. In theory I could do away with that earth bar then...

I have done "Local Earthing" on the previous Horace loom and doing it this time too - it works fine.

Looking at making a wiring harness for my Harris, how do you rate the moto gadget gear? Have you found it easy to work with?

The whole reason MotoGadget gear exists is ease of installation with modern spec electronics and the ability to hide everything.

But even I was doing a full on rest I'd use their stuff as the guts.

Can't say enough good things about them...

Re the motogadget swipe ignition, I assume that you swipe it once for on then swipe it once for off, or does the sensor need to be close to the pick up all the time?

It's simple as a simple thing to work with. I have built Horace with a full set of their gear with problems at all. They provide a simple wiring loom diagram and you can buy a kit of wiring materials which matches it all.

Hello lads.

Getting the project ready for a final assembly :D and setting up the head tube preload. The machinist who made my yokes also included these 2 different preload rings.

I assume the bigger one screws down and sets the preload and the top one is the lock ring?

My question in short is - are both supposed to stay on there? There does appear to be space for both under the top yoke.

I have my sensor mounted on the inside of the seat and the Key Fob has to touch the Seat right on top of the Sensor (but other side of the fiberglass) to work.

But then the seat is hardwired to the bike - makes removal trickier? I mounted mine on a bracket inside the side panel facing out. So I swipe right over the 'Z750' emblem :jake

Erm nope - wired into a loom and multi-pin plugs - if the plug isn't connected the ign dosen't come on.

Usually one stem adjuster nut on older stuff followed by the top yoke which sits tight on top to prevent it from moving when the stem bolt's done up but a lot of modern bikes use two especially when there's no pinch bolt on the top yoke.
Either way will do as long as the top of the stem doesn't protrude so far that it prevents the top nut or bolt bottoming out before it tightens on the top yoke.
I notice there is no bearing dust cap fitted in the pic so don't forget that before fitting the nut/s too.
