AFTER 6 MISERABLE DAYS.......... I bought another ZED!!!!
Well, sold my beloved Bee last Wednesday which plunged me into a deep depression. Just preparing for a long wait for the right 'project' Bee to come along when I happened upon a likely looking listing on Ebay. Genuine UK bike, a little grey in the gills but carrying a lot of original kit. 32,000mls, running and MOT'd the same day!!
The guy said he'd end the listing if I came over with folding so I hitched up the trailer, emptied the piggy bank and headed off to Chelmsford. 1.30 am this morning I arrived home with my new resto. Posted some pics below: that funky old 4 into 2 sounds great - wouldn't look amiss on a special I reckon? Dunno what it is, but looks like it uses Zed headers...hmmm. If anyone's interested let me know. Same goes for the box section swingarm (which looks 70's period) and the akront Ali rims.
You'll notice my beloved in the second pic signifying her disbelief at the arrival of yet another pile of scrap. Cheeky Mare.
The resto starts as soon as I clear the shed - hope to finish in time for next year's Bucks Rally. I'll take her back to original spec - without going too mad - with Candy Super Blue livery. IMHO the prettiest Zed of them all
Really not sure about that UK spec long mudguard - do you think I might be excused that? I prefer them cheeky 'hitched up' yankie ones...

Cheers Guys.
And yes, that is my beloved expressing her utter dismay at the arrival of yet another down-at-heel Zed.
But you know what I say? - have a little faith woman! Have a little faith.
She's gone to "stay with friends" for the forseeable future...
On the subject of the mudguard, I figure that the stark staring genius who designed this bike would NEVER have come up with something as hideous as that! IMHO - -of course....
