Z1000J - Teardown and Rebuild

I havent yet started tearing the bike down, but I have started ordering some of the bling.

Being so far from the source of these parts, its best to get most in place as soon as possible.

Yesterday I managed to pick up a "hack" its a Z1000J that the guy started modifying but ran out of either interest, motivation, money - or all three. Its a complete rolling bike thats relatively complete, and I got it for £400.
I'll be using it purely as a source of "emergency parts"

Got a soft spot for J series so will be watching your progress. Cool swingarm allthough im unfamilier with the manufacturer, is it German.& How about a photo of the bike

Where did you get all the bits from, have you got a link, just thinking that they might be cheaper from SA.

Krüger & Junginger were among the first to do box section swingarms, they still exist and most amazingly, their swingarms aren't even that expensive...

Yes it is a Kruger and Junginger swingarm and the price for that one is €558

The Carbs and Wiseco kit I got from Z Enterprises IMO their prices are very good, and I have just added a Dyna S ignition, coils and leads together with a push/pull twist grip with cables for the Mikunis, to the order

Even with paying for postage and import duty the parts are cheaper from USA, than UK or South Africa

But I do ask them to put the word "GIFT" on the invoice then it only incurs 10% import duty instead of 20%

NOW - where can I get a reasonably priced Oil Cooler kit

and - Im perving over this Titanium exhaust - wonder how much ££££

Oh that's nice, I have a Lawson and want to go down a similar path, thanks for the info. So how do you get in contact K&J, did you contact them direct or go through an agent/supplier? Why did you go for that type of carb, was it just down to setting them up?
What other plans have got?

Apparently, the Mikuni's are easier and less hassle to set up than the Keihin's

Bike looks great well the Lawson does For the cooler have a look at Zed1015 thread he puts together his own kit, i have purchased the same parts and will be doing a similar set up on mine this winter
For the exhaust the price was listed between the photos 1000 Pounds

Its been some time since I did an update, mainly as a result of hassling to get my 3rd garage built

However, at long last after ordering and pre-paying for the swing-arm in October last year it has finally arrived.

At one point I thought I would have to write this off as a bad internet transaction as at some stages Herr Kruger (Kruger & Junginger) wasnt responding to any of my emails requesting updates, then he firstly had the swing-arm chromed when my order clearly stated powder coated satin black, then he was in hospital with pneumonia - the frustrations went on for 6-7 months - well alls well that ends well.

However, although the product and quality is 1st rate and the price was also very competitive when compared to other aftermarket suppliers.
It comes supplied with new needle roller bearings pre-installed, custom manufactured to suit the dimensions of the ZX9 rear 17" wheel.
All considered, the lack of feedback and long term frustrations - i would not recommend anybody buy from Kruger & Junginger.
