Carrying on from my introduction on the on the newbie page.
This is my ELR as i bought her, which my Daughters have named the armchair, compared to the R1 it certainly is and armchair
I've had a very productive weekend, managed to get the frame from this
To this
All painted and ready to go.
Than was yesterdays job. Today i cleaned up the wheels and maneged to paint 3 of the four sides. Backs breaking form all the bending over so i,ve saved the last side for tomorrow. Also tomorrow i have to order the head gasket and hopefully fit the newly painted forks (did those yesterday as well)
Cheers

It's got to be white for me.
Yes it's been a very busy weekend, i've been trying to catch up after the bad weather, i,m a couple of weeks behind where i would like to be.
The plan is to get the front end aback in during the week, strip the head off and change the valve stem oil seals ready for painting the engine next weekend, but as usual it all depends on the weather.
Cheers

Problem that i now have to overcome is the engine, or more to the point the valve stem oil seals.
The mechanic who was going to watch over me is too busy for the next month and cant fir me in, so i'm going to have to go in alone. I have no experience
Which workshop manual should i get to walk me through it?
Is there a walk through on line that i can download to follow?
I did manage to get hold of a head set
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=017
Ordered it at 4pm and it was in my hands by 5.30am. Thirteen and a half hours.
Any advice on doing the valve stem oil seals would be greatfully recieved
I'll keep you updated
Cheers
Chris

Have'nt posted for a while, i've been a bit busy with engine problems and i've finally got round to finishing the paintwork
If you look in the bike help you'll see that i've had some engine problems.
Just got back from Chris Sadd's of CS Engineering and the engine is all sorted timed up, shimed up. Took him a couple of hours and he charged me ?60 plus i had to go and get 3 shimms which came to ?12.
I'm very happy with the price and the workmanship highly recommended.
I'll try and put some pictures of the paintwork up in the next few days though i still have to paint the engine.
Just up to me to get all the bits together.
Still need to get the bottom engine mount though
Cheers

With help from Owen who has just sighnd up to the Forum we managed to drop the engine in today.
Had some problems with the bottom front engine mount. Z power wanted ?56 for the bolt and the bits of rubber to complete the mount. I maneged to get it all together for 50p which i'm well pleased with and that was for the bolt from Seastar Kawasaki dealers. The rubbers came from Walker rubbers in Norwich and were given to me as a sample. Thanks again to Owen for helping me squeeze it all together.
Sorry i am a bit behind on the pictures.
Geoff i'm definately up for the pint but wether you ride the bike depends on how many rounds you buy (lol)
Cheers
