Liking the look of it so far - keep up the good work.
I have an A5 900, however, I'm just doing a refresh on it.
Out of interest, where did you source the disks as I have a ZRX front end I want to put in a later project.

Discs are ISR custom made, ordered via HPS (

Ah of course, I should have recognised them.
I have a pair of their super sexy 6 pot calipers on my ZRX!

Managed to spend some time on the project over the last few days. I'm now on two wheels.
Re-cap on how bike was when purchased.

Just had the frame strengthening kit welded into place. Looks like they did a great job.
Checking alignment of chain and sprockets and clearance on frame....

Nice job on the frame bracing!
Is that a PMC kit?

Yes it is a PMC kit, welding was expertly done by Gia Engineering Ltd (Gavin Goddard) in Stapleford.

Some photos and comments on progress with the engine over the past month or so.....
The start....
Lifting handle and bar used to make the job of getting the engine back into the frame trouble fee without damaging the paintwork.
Piston ring compressor tool, despite being for z1000 did work OK with some special care. Note that the tool had to be used back to front due to the frame strengthening bar being in the way for the tightening knob.
Just got the head back from SEP, new valve seats and guides. Checking the valve clearance before painting the head or putting head on engine.
Last of the summer heat, needed to get this painting done last weekend, outside temp was 24 degC.
Underside done....
Head now completed and ready for cooking, luckily wife was out so perfect for cooking bike parts!
Head now on....so can concentrate on the rest of the rebuild.
