The pipe is Harris made by them while the bike was with them, got some GSXR750 carbs that have been bored out and set up for an engine that is similar to mine, hopefully that bit is sorted.

Engine is from Joe @ Pitstop

The biggest problem for me is going to be the wiring as I have never done anything like this and don't really know what I'm doing, read a few books but its going to be trial and error!

I wired my Harris from scratch.... most important thing in my book was to have a proper battery isolator - so if owt goes wrong you just "pull the pin" and battery is not connected :!:

I actually use it as my main ignition switch

Took the front end off and removed the brackets for the front brakes, going to take the lot to work and make some up to fit the new front stoppers!

Been collecting parts for some time now, its good to get them out of the boxes!

I'm back! :D

Not posted for a while, as you might know I've been helping my Son with his Land Rover project which has taken up Saturday mornings.

The Harris was put on hold as a mate offered to make brackets up for the brakes while he was quiet, he owns an engineering shop so has all the equipment! As soon as I drop the frame off his company wins a contract he didn't think he's win and the Harris is put to one side, five months latter I get a call that he's finished!

Very happy with the results.

Not sure about the Z engine but getting a GSX engine was a huge pain. I would relate it to one of those chinese puzzles you get as a kid. I did mine as a bare frame which was lowered and twisted to get over the motor on the bench. I would suggest that there is no way you will lift the motor in. Also very much a 2 person job and it does not drop straight down but down twist, cant to one side and hope. Get front bolt through and everything else will fall in to place (assuming it is straight!)

Engine in, front end had to come off and the frame was lowered to the engine, front bolt in first then top then back, we found out the rear bolt is slightly bent, I'll get on to Harris on Monday!
Exhaust on next!

Went to fit the exhaust this morning, if you look at the pictures from Harris the dummy engine didn't have an oil filter fitted and it seems they he built the exhaust not knowing this! So the exhaust won't fit and with this the fairings don't line up as the exhaust is pushing the belly pan down!
So, I think the only solution is a flat oil filter case, are these available?

Other than that she's looking quite good, need advise on throttle cables, the two I have don't work, I need one with a 90 degree turn and not too much length on the turn so it fits under the tank, fitting GSXR750 flat slides.

You need an APE low profile filter cover

Or modify the original like I did on page 18 of my project.
