I was considering getting Tony Galea to do it by splitting the cam chain, he's been doing them since the 80s and not far from here.

Great day today, fitted the new MTC pistons, still a bit iffy about using 'buttons' rather than circlips but we'll see!

what with those bits not fitted properly I think I would be going over the bike with a fine tooth comb. especially brakes and suspension.

We found that the carb rubbers were really hard so thought we'd replace them as I've got a spare new set from the Harris build, went to undo them and was gobsmacked to find that they were only held on by the top four bolts, this 'Total rebuild' gets better! Like I've said before attention to detail counts but it's better to get the basics right first! While I'm on about the basics, a battery needs checking and will not work without acid in it, so I found out with the Z1100R. Great to know this hadn't been 'restored' at least it will not need an engine rebuild!

Absolutely No issues with the MTC teflon buttons,
Used them on my 1075 A1
It was well used & abused,
They are a very good design , so no worries there.
