On the Colours I have not finally decided.
I vote for the original red!
My old Z400J was that colour and my current project (another Z400J) will be, if I can get it working again.
Now a vote could be an interesting way to make the final decision!

I'm putting a bikini fairing on it but maybe that will look nice enough in original colours. Need to make my mind up soon as will have to get the bodywork dropped off for paint. Just waiting on fairing mountings and mudguard to arrive to test for everything first.

The red looks good.
Trouble is every other Lawson is green, I would say that wouldn't I.

Are you sourcing a round headlight fairing or going over to square?

If not the original red, if mine had a square tank like yours I'd be tempted with a Racecrafters Kilnzman rep... :)

I like the red, but mine will be staying green, and mine's a Wayne Rainey rep, not a Lawson rep :D

Now that's not a bad option Coose!

Chris, I have a square headlight thanks to GB and the fairing now too.

I believe I am going to keep the stock colours and add the fairing. Would need to get a decal set and someone who can make the extra stripes for the fairing. Any ideas on decals guys who is a good supplier?

I got mine from these lot. Very good price very good quality and when i asked them to produce an extra length for the fairing they did it from the original saved specs. They kept the design on record and when i went back two years later and asked for a full set again but with the tank decals an extra two inches longer they did it no problems. They asked me how much i paid them before and when i told them they said it would be the same then.
The reason for asking for the tank set to be longer was because it only just wrapped round the back of the tank and with the front of the seat lower you could see the cut end at the back of the tank which inflamed my sensibilities :D
I think you have my full name from an e-mail which you can use to get them to search for what i had if it helps. If not i'll send it if you need it.

Just been looking at the zpower model history and luminous ruby red is a 1981 colour for European models!!
