Thanks Kev. Yep, it was the one that came fitted, I wasn't sure what it was from, I think Alan said it was a Zephyr one but you've clarified what it is now. Fits nicely.

I did actually get it for my zephyr, but the bolt holes were in the wrong position.

Once warm it ticks over ok but it's a balancing act with the choke for a few minutes beforehand

Looking at the first few inches of the headers and the Harris / free flow filters combo; is it running weak in some areas' of the range??
Do you know what size the carbs are and what the jets sizes are?

It is a bit 'fluffy' off the throttle I find compared to my last ST (standard airbox on that one), carbs are standard 28mm but I am not sure of jet sizes. I may be able to find his project thread I think he covers that there, I know the previous owner experimented with jet sizes to get it running properly. Higher in the revs on mid-high throttle it really goes well, is responsive and has no flat spots anywhere. Pilot jets need changing perhaps? Plugs were slightly sooty. Headers are blue for first few inches. It has been bored to 1105cc and has a Pingel tap.

Well the mot is booked tomorrow so it's about done. Painted the side panels and touched up the engine in places, oil change, new exhaust brackets/gaskets fitted. Gave it a test run around the block all is ok except fuel gauge doesn't appear to work but it may need more than a fiver to budge off empty. Forks are very soft so I will look at fitting firmer springs/oil. Starts first kick and rides very nicely. Need to fit and locktite the mirrors as well.

Not yet Chris, thankfully it starts ok on the kickstart but it is on the list to do. Probably put dyna coils and ignition on and replace the starter motor. Battery needs checking too so I haven't pinpointed the issue yet. I think the only time it started with the button was when you helped out in Woburn that time.

Not sure mate, all looks straight but it does have a heck of a lean on it.

Passed the mot this morning no issues at all. Rode lovely, taxing it tomorrow and looking forward to riding it now.

I always thought the ST could do with shorter shocks.
Apparently as standard they are softer than the Mk11

My MkII has a evil lean on her too, put it down to the tabs on the side stand spread and the pin worn. Mate has a MkII he has owned from new and doesn't lean anywhere near that much.
