Looking good! That stand does appear to stick out sideways, rather than downwards. Could it have been bent in it's former life?

Possibly GB, you are right looking at the pics. I could try heating/straightening it but I think it will still lean over. Shocks are 350mm, I don't know what the standard shock length is.

totally transformed i personally would paint the lower legs in satin black the gold spoils the look of the front end

Well with the half decent weather I took the ST up the road and back a couple of times and all seems well and nothing fell off. Once warm it ticks over ok but it's a balancing act with the choke for a few minutes beforehand. Also discovered on full lock to the left the headlight clamp just touches the tank. After a few miles on the TL earlier, although obviously not having the urgency of the modern bike, it highlighted how smooth the zed is and how assured and smooth the gear changes are. Love it, MOT not far off now.

Nice to see the bike changing back to a more standard look, the old ltd mudguard looks nice, if it came with the bike it's one i had hanging in my garage for about five years.
