That valve looks the same as the return valve fitted to Unitrak tanks. (and possibly other fi Kawasaki's) Could the bike have been running a fuel injected motor in the past?

Paul McEleney has a fuel injected Rickman.
That's certainly what it looks like to me. I mean a return valve.
