Progressed a bit more with this, welded my 'disc carrier' to the axle, then re-cut the face on the lathe to get it as square as possible.

Countersunk that pesky bolt that was fouling the chain.

Welded sprocket to the axle & fitted a centre support bearing.

Stripped it all apart, finished welding (or blobbing hot metal) on all the inaccessible bits, then gave it a couple of coats of hammerite Satin Black.

Re-assembled just about everything, mounted battery, solenoid, reg/rectifier and made a simple loom. Motor now cranks over 'on the button'. Just need to add an ignition circuit and we're ready to fire it up. :boom :boom

Just a wild stab in the dark here, but would not some go-kart wheels are tyres be a wise idea.

Yep, they probably would, along with proper brakes & suspension. :??

It has been noted, that the original 'test pilot' Rozzer aka John Roscoe, seem's to have left the room! :D :D
