Don't go on the train with all that power, there was a spate of disability scooters not having the power to get up the ramp, so they needed a run up, the problem being that the old dears didn't have the reactions to stop once in said train, so...they sped straight through the carriage and punched through the opposite door and onto the track.

It's NOT funny, but it makes me laugh out loud just thinking about it.

Maybe I'm not well
Cheers,

Mark.

Made a bit more progress.....

Used the trusty old Myford to machine slots it the axle to take the drive pins. This is another part that I have little confidence in & may fail. :ek :ek

Image

Welded the bearing mounts to the side rails, where I could access, the rest will be finished when the motor comes back out.

Image

Started to modify the caliper mount, once the excess is trimmed of, this will be bolted to the inside of the frame rail, then the disc carrier can be welded to the axle.

got to agree 100%

its a recipe for disaster ,these scooters are made for 20mph ,I carnt see the point in putting a z1000 motor in that do 120mph ,be bloody dangerous at that speed ,then you gota stop ,were you gunna drive it ?
if its a prop for wacky races ,ok ,no ofence ,but does seem a shame to use a zed engine in such away

Seem's some of you lot have had a 'sense of humour bypass'

This is being built as a 'BIT OF FUN'. I have no intention of travelling at 120mph on the fecker.

Probably get used at a couple of rallies, Lower Lode etc

If I'd broken a perfectly good Zed for the motor, I could understand the outcry, but this motor was sat at the back of the shed & will now have some life breathed into it again. I have no doubt that it will ultimately find it's way back into a Zed, only thing that's been modified is the transmission cover & I have another to replace that.

It's not failed to put a smile on the face of everyone that's passed through my garage in the last few weeks. Or perhaps they're laughing at me :? :git :hech I really don't give a fook.

GB - I think the chaps are just "thinking out loud" from a holistic view point

Seriously - it's not to be taken too seriously :?:

Keep at it...... as you say, it'll be a fantastic paddock/pit bike
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Waste of a Zed engine?. Given some of the Modified Zeds I've seen posted on here this is the best use of a DOHC yet!.

Keep up the Good Work GB. :D

Project now re-named...... THE WIDOW SHAKER.

Thank you Garry....... It's still making me chuckle! :rir :rir

Made a 'faux pas' with the caliper mount. Not enough room to drill the side of the frame rail, so mounted it to a bit of angle & fitted it to the top of the rail......

Image

I didn't think 'rivnuts' would be up to this task, so I turned down some M8 nuts, set them slightly lower than the rail height & welded 'em in.........

........... Time will tell. :??

F**K what everyone thinks GB, I think you should put Nitrous on it. No point in fooking around. Buzzard.
Every man should have a shed (for bikes obviously..)
