well after a sending the crank off to get rebuilt and waiting just over 2 weeks the crank came back. Well the box looked like the bloody box had been delivered by Ace Ventura!
The box was crushed and the crank had punched through the side, but the icing on the cake was when the box was opened the packing media was a pair of trousers and old over coat! I KID NOT.

fk me ,what company did your crank ,sounds like a right set of cheep skates ,wooden box at the least for a crank ,reminds me of a well known tuning shop that sent me engine back in card board boxes ,cracked sump ,broken fin on head ,and lower crankcase bolt hole damaged, joke ,I was paying for it so why not a wooden crate beats me ,

Chris Applebee did the crank. when I sent it back again it was packed with a styrene box encased with kingspan expanded foam within another box and instructions to keep packing for return.

Mind you they where very apologetic and did not hesitate to re-do the crank and pay for return at their expense and no doubt give the bloke who packed it and went home in his underpants and t-shirt a little extra in his pay packet, i.e his p45.

Next rant is fucking wiseco more like divco 12 bleeding weeks and I'm still waiting for the piston kit. after being told its in Europe I have just been referred back to the usa. I think that stands for; unlimited stupid arseholes!

OK deep breaths and ...Relax...Aahh that's better!

Now for the good news, I have managed to find a new Kerker exhaust for the bike at a reasonable price for something that is no longer made as far as I can see.

I have also resolved to get another ELR I would like to do a 1000 this/next time and restore that also. The fun is in the challenge of sourcing the parts and the fact that there are only 1188 of them known of in the world, out of a supposed run of 1300.

That means 112 of them still have to be accounted for, and I'm gonna find/get one!

Guess I've got the bug :kod

What was I doing wrong when trying post the photo, or do you think photobucket site would have been the issue at the time.

Kerkers are still available, got mine from JC Motors in the USA for the 1000R build, very good price and great service

As for how many left, I would guess more logbooks than actual bikes
