The Kerker is still at Stanstead awaiting clearance from customs. [imImageg][/img]

Well today wiseco were given the elbow as supplier of the pistons as there stil effing about with excuses. But Dave at Merctec has managed to secure a Cosworth 1170 kit and the barrels, head, valves, springs and guides are getting packed and sent off too Roger Upperton for him to work his magic on them.

In the mean time heres a photo of some of the parts that are going into the engine and on the bike.

[iImagemg][/img]

Dave C at Merctec has now installed all the bearings in the gearbox along with both parts of the new 2nd gear and Chris Applebee looked after the crank and relpaced the big ends and main bearings in/on that. See previous photos.

So when the head and barrels come back it should be final engine build time yahooo!

Ok i guess im a lucky lad to get my hands on these from Roger Upperton. Cosworth 1170 pistons with a 10.5 cr, rocking horse poo in the availablity stakes!

The head and barrels have also gone off to roger for boring and the head to have a full valve job with recut seats and new valves and guides, all the ports matched and gasket faces cleaned up with a very light skim if needed.

Oopps! sorry Scott I did not read the post properly! I have no idea about the the guy's you posted the link about.

But if you want someone to build the engine Dave
at Merctek in Croydon is the most fastidious engine builder I have ever met.

Ok so im not as lucky as i thought but i have still secured a set of pistons instead of waiting for more Wiseco b.s and by god them cozzie pistons are very trick and sexy.

And i have a top engineer doing the work on the barrels and head, so hears a question.
Should i get him to match the ports whilst the heads apart, i suppose its a stage 1 flow. Or should ileave well alone and keep it as standard as possible?

Heres waitimg for your anwsers.

Need to make the most of those pistons.
Give it a gas flow, mostly on the floor of the inlet tracts and into the bowl to unmask the valve head, Same treatment on the roof of the exhausts to straighten them out and give the gasses a clear shot.
Push the valve seating area out towards the edge of the valve and open up the throats to get the best out of std size valves.
