As was; a seized up Suzuki thing:
Since a seal kit & Pistons are £50+, this was good enough at £54:
I'll be needing hoses for both ends since there ain't BlueTooth activated Brakes invented yet !!

your right there Paul, gloss black is prolly the order of the day then - when I get them done. I was looking to do then the pale gold colour that are Suzuki TL1 but maybe not now like the picture below
this wheel is too wide for the swinging arm but I now have a spare one which is project No2 - if I ever get Project No1 finished!

M-Unit
Just been doing some research into this thing looks good but it has some limitations:
has to be well away from the coils and not splashed with water (understandable) but less than 80DegC so here is prolly not a goog place to mount it after all;
was hoping to leave the under seat area empty but now humm !

THE SUN WAS OUT .......
....so time to get busy.
Some CNC Machined fluid Pots from Motopike & Hell Hoses made up "while I wait" by B&C in Potterhanworth. I found a way to get the correct lengths needed - Three Core Domestic Cable routed as needed then cut to length as pattens. Luckily the Rear Brake line from the previous set up still fitted !. I solved the Master cylinder Banjo Bolt & Reservoir Feed pipe sealing with Dowty Washers from Earl's. They are alloy Banjo & connection and don't like the torque required to crush copper washers. OUCH !

Hyd Clutch:
Rear Brake - just a few P-Clips to tidy the line up:
Electric String next I fear!!

I had the same grief with all the crap going in the carbs. I eventually gave in and fitted a hugger designed for a GSXR Suzuki 600 STRAD. Took some wiggling and cutting, but it finally went on with the swinger off the bike. Used the chain guard mounts. What a difference in the wet. No more spray and shite all over the carbs, shock and motor.
There's a picture here if you scroll down a bit on the thread.

Never heard of a Harris Magnum
an update
Greetings,
Been busy - too busy to be fettling a bike as much as I would like. So after a false start and nearly selling the whole thing (luckily I was let down or it would be gone, gone, gone !), I handed it over someone with the time to get all the headachey fiddly bits that never seem to have a fix and looks like it's a bodge job done . !!
So at the moment the bike looks pretty much like this:
The frame is away for repainting after being stripped back to bare metal & having some lock stops & other brackets welded on.
Forks stripped and overhauled.
Tank and Fairing, seat all away to be painted.
Wheels - well its on it third front wheel now - buckled rims galore but dismantled to be stripped to bare metal and painted. Then all new Bearings and discs.
Electrics are going to be all 21st Century stuff from Motogadget - M-Unit, Motoscope Pro & Breakout box, M-Lock, M-Switch - thanks for the inspiration Royalratch.
As for the engine - just imagine a Z1000 Engine with none of the shiney side covers fitted as they are away too ! Getting all protective coatings.
So there you go, Hopefully I'll have more news in a few weeks
regards
Howie
