2004 Z1B project started at last.
First shipment of parts have just arrived, the quality is first class. Tank, seat, headlight, clock suround etc should be here in next few days then I can get it away to the painter. Got the plaster off my arm last Wednesday so I can now start stripping the bike. As I'm still going to be off work for the next 3 weeks I should be able to get loads done.

Parts look great, can't wait to get mine.
I've got 2 kits on order and opted to wait until all the parts are ready.
I travel to France alot and have arranged to go to Germany and collect my kits and meet up with the guys at DAW. I'm interested to see what other projects they've got under way as well.
I was expecting the quality to be first class and glad to hear you're not disappointed.
Keep us posted on how the transformation goes.

Can't wait for more updates as this is something I'm seriously considering doing.
Keep them coming Floydsz1
PS: What pipes are you putting on it?
I've got the bike stripped but Can't do much more till I get the rest of the parts, and the instructions 🤔🤔
I'll probably use the standard Silencer's, I'm going to try taking the cat out of each one and then polish them so they've not got the gold colour. Only other option is I get my mate to make a pair of Silencer's but I think 4 rather than 2 are best.
We made these for my other z1000 and can do them in stainless or titanium aswell but I think these are too modern looking.

How frustrating!! Hope they arrive soon.
I reckon the 4 pipe version(that's the standard ones right?) look ace. If you've got those then I'd stick with them
I'd have to source a bike before I could even start to get going on the project so I guess it'd be best to find one with the original 4 pipes still on.
Never ridden the modern Z1000s....presume they're pretty handy?
Great having the best of both worlds......

I've had the one above since new 24,000 mls and been to Scotland numerous times and also went to the faro rally in Portugal on it a few years ago. They do go well but not as comfy or grunty as my zrx. I've still got the standard pipes that were on it and also got another set with the black one.

This is the email Les got last night after he fired an email to them asking them for some sort of definite date.
Dear customers,
I wanted to bring you up to date.
After a failure by flu by Oliver's medical history is unfortunately continue.
Oliver has now by overwork a crack (= SLAP lesion) and inflammation in his right shoulder.
Furthermore came on Sunday night added yet a herniated disc.
He was now back to the doctor and was injected. He now has three further studies and possibly needs surgery his shoulder.
Oliver but has already agreed with the doctors that he will not first of all operated, but gets painkillers (tilidine and others)
so that he can go on to the parts of the kit, albeit very slowly.
The OP will take place after the complete delivery, because otherwise he has no peace.
This whole "problem" originated in the time when I ill because of my shoulder and he worked again a Shovel more,
so my work was also done. We currently have a further worker who will start from the middle of next week with us,
so Oliver gets support. Oliver now comes the hour for work but can not afford a full working day,
has he got also expressly forbidden by the doctor.
I'm sorry to ask you to again to a little more patience and understanding but unfortunately there is no alternative. The production continues,
albeit more slowly than previously planned.
I wish you a nice weekend and when questions are Please call me.
If a personal phone conversation with Oliver is desired, then writes the date on which it with you fits best.
Thanks and regards,
Milla Kirsch

Yep I got the same email. Also got a email with pictures of how the little bracket's fit so I can mount the panels , but still not got the tank so can't fit or start painting it.
It's all good quality stuff but I can't help feel they shouldn't have taken any money until the kits were actually made.
