Z1000 A1 New Project
Moderators: chrisu, paul doran, Taffus, KeithZ1R
Finally got my wheels back from the chromers, new spokes fitted, patten parts for the back wheel, stainless for the front, the front spokes were 3mm shorter than what the spoke man was happy about, Zed Head confirmed that his old spoke was 3mm longer, so with that in mind went for stainless.
Spent an hour today just to put the wheels back on so I could move the frame about easily, well its coming on, slow but steady.
Got the correct disc's front and rear now, the engine rebuild looms on the horizon.

That's my Z650 on their website.
The pipes they made were the first attempt for a Z650 and they used an old rusty original set to copy.
The quality of work is very good and although 8 years old the silencers still look like new although the downpipes have tarnished. They weren't cheap though....over £800 then.

I don't think that looks good at all.

I like the angle of the silencers, but they look a bit oversized.

Slow business this project lark, and expensive, got my engine cases back from Steve Smethurst today, quite a bit of corrosion revealed but not where it will be seen tho.

Looking somewhat better...
Re: Z1000 A1 New Project
Slow progress, had a few problems with the engine cases but sorted now, managed to get the bottom half of the engine back in, managed to get a nos left pipe, hunting for a right one, if anyone knows of one.
