I'm just getting to order new tyres, any recommendations ?
I believe the original sizes are.....
Front - 110x90xV18
Rear - 130x80xV18
Stu
Why is the aspect ratio different on the front / rear tyres?
Can a 140 80 18 be fitted to the rear ??

would you not consider later running gear mate?zrx front goes straight in,swingarm just needs a sleeve, vastly improved handling and they look a lot better as well.

Will be taking the blue one to be MOTed in a couple of weeks. Just have to sort out a couple of wiring gremlins and it's all looking good.

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project
Got my tyres fitted, went for Avons, worked out @ £200 including fitting, balance & valves.
Discs fitted, I'm not sure if I like the short front mudguard, will need to look at that .
The rear brake calliper seems to be a GPZ type, but I don't have a calliper mounting bracket . Another thing to sort.
I'm just waiting for my 1100R clocks & wiring loom to arrive.
Got my fairing thanks Julian .
Rotor, rear mudguard & a couple of other parts from Al.
Not sure yet if I go with a 630 chain or go to a smaller 5 series??
Battery box should be arriving from Martin this week, then I will start reinstating the de- lugged side panel brackets also.

It all depends if you want originality or performance. I got a PMC underslung AP caliper kit from Webike. The adjustable torque arm fits to the centre stand lugs (losing the C/S in the process) and it looks the mutts. If you go this route then buy the component parts minus the caliper from Webike and get the AP2696 caliper from Dennis Trollope racing. The calipers are made in Coventry so you end up paying extra for the caliper's travels around the globe.
For performance, weight and reliability I used a 530 chain conversion from Debbens.

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project
Thanks Fred,
I may look at the ap kit.
I loosely fitted up a few more parts ...
Correct loom & clocks
Seat brackets , rear light & rear tail piece.
The handle bar switchgear seems to correspond to the loom block connectors & they look like the pics I have.
Found out the head light bracket doesn't seem to be correct, I have 2 one chrome & one painted

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project
Can anyone confirm if the 1983 Z1000R is the same starter motor as the Z1100R ??

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project
Julian,
They are different part numbers
The 1100R1 being 21163-1222
The 1000R2 being 21163-1086,
On Partzilla, part # 21163-1222 also seems to be for the 1991 ZR 750
I found this one on ebay, but the drive gear looks a bigger diameter ??
FFS !
