I was bleeding the hydraulic clutch today (PMC kit.)
When I put it in 1st gear, without the engine running, & with the clutch lever pull in, the back wheel still locked ??
The engine has been sitting a while, so I’m thinking that maybe the clutch plates are sticking ??
Take it into neutral & wheel is free.

Any pointers guys ?

id remove the clutch cover and remove the plates one at a time
give rm a slight wipe with some fresh oil and renstsll em .also if youve in stalled a pmc kit you could check its fully working when you remove the cover if the plates arnt stuck

I think you’re supposed to soak clutch plates in engine oil for 24 hours before you fit them ?

That will be the clutch plates stuck then. The helical grooves in the friction plates need to be facing the other way! They remove oil from the spinning clutch pack so as not to pressurise it and theoretically force it open. Looks fantastic by the way.

Got my grabrail back from xylan coting, looks very similar to the black chrome, but more of a satin finish

Well, Someone please remind me... NEVER believe all that you are told with regards to a complete Engine well built & put together !!!

After a nice run out, my 1100R decided to have a bit of a top end rattle n roll coming back home.

Managed to nurse it back home ( gently) & on pulling the rocker cover, came across this little beauty !!

The camshaft cap has stripped the threads clean out & the Welded cap on closer inspection has obviously pulled with the weld & is actually tapered !!

The head has to come off & while I am in there , the barrels will come of & I will change out the base gasket, I still have 195psi across 3 pots, but #3 is down to 135psi, so that may be a valve or ring.

But at least it will be done properly.

Better to remove the bridge and use as 2 separate caps.

I got the engine stripped down,.....
Bore size is 75mm, intake valves appear to be 38mm.(Not sure if this is correct), so I will need to get a manual from somewhere.

Tested all the combustion chambers and there is no valve leak whatsoever.

Pistons are all like new with no marks, not sure if they are Wiseco there are only numbers on pistons, A382M07560 and 3802J on each piston crown.

Don’t know why there is a compression loss, there is very slight scoring to each cylinder, but its nothing you can feel, it is very light, compression loss quite a bit on #3 @ 135psi compared to 195 on other 3 cylinders, but now Im starting to question my initial reading?.

A few of the valve adjustment shims were broken into 3 pieces.

Shims are under bucket, is this standard for the uni-trac head ?
