Good progress today .... bottom half of engine fitted , swing arm bushed and fitted , shocks on , forks and yokes etc in
Fitted the rear guard but forgot to fit the seat lock so had to take it all off again and do that , healamp bucket and indicator stems along with battery box etc
Made another list of parts that I forgot to get so will sort that this week
Oddly my caliper is a right one which means I might as well go for twin discs leaves me looking for a left and another disc or sell off the right and buy a repro left
I don't like the look of polished fork legs so had them vapour blasted and lacquered ..... not sure if I like them yet
Sorry for the picture quality its the fluorescents in the workshop

Sell off the right caliper + disc and buy the twin disc kit from Z-Power if you can afford it

Hello Chris,
I had my fork legs ball burnished and then gave them a light CAREFUL rub with a ultra fine Scotch Brite pad.
Really like the finish, looks very similar to original but with no lacquer.

On another note: I'm not a fan of the indicators on the grab rail type, when you have the Z1 oval rear light, only my opinion :)

wheels trued up and assembled ...I used the same finish on the brake plate ( vapour and laquer )

I think it looks quite smart now

I'm with you all the way on the therapeutic qualities of wheel building. Built my rear wheel tonight courtesy of AdrianH and his rear hub.

Enjoyed watching this thread - it seems to be cracking on at a fair pace. Loving the in house garage shots.

Only had one free day to get in the workshop but made some progress
Rear guard fitted properly , footrests on , grab rail fitted , battery box fitted properly , front wheel and back wheel , tyres ,
I got a 2nd disc so need another caliper now ( more expense ) and opted for BT45 tyres
Sorted out all the engine parts so the head and barrels next
Sorry about the picture quality .....I lost the light and the fluorescents ruin the photos

My first attempt at clock restoration . I have gathered parts from all over the place and think I now have enough to put a set of Z1B together from this motley assortment
I have had some covers powder coated at Triple S and sourced some transfers from America ......now to sand down the old faces and apply the new ones ......this could end badly :)

Looking good!!!!!
Im liking that wheel building contraption, if you have the talent to rebuild your own rims, that could save both time and money.......
