T’was a chap down in Wales Alan who has vowed to never do motorcycle wheels again. The other option I had was lepsons - but they wanted £150+vat per wheel (£75/side).

Bit more progress now. Carbs fitted, dialed in and she runs superbly. Front fender fitted, tail cowl and side covers fitted. Wheels should go on at the weekend. Then should be MOT ready towards the back end of next week (weather permitting).

Thanks for the replies/encouragement.

Was -3 deg.C down in the workshop yesterday (no heating down there) so in the interests of not freezing my nuts off, or rish shearing bolts etc I’ll wait a few days to progress / finalize the build.

Not long now...

Sorry for this...hijack alert.

Admin, please advise or move this if inappropriate.

As pert of my (half forced, but very welcome) new life venture into classic restoration, I have just finished working with a local company to make the adaptors to diamond cut bike wheels.

The service will be remove bearings etc, clean, and blast, powder coat in colour of your choice, diamond cut, powder coat clear, reassemble with new bearings.

The price £160 per wheel, £300 per pair for members.

We can add zinc plating of spacers, disc bolts etc, and/or powder coating disc centres, and/or sprocket carriers.

Not cheap, but factor in your time, stripping, masking, painting, polishing......

Hi James,

Yes it does, double rubber sealed.

It's one thing banging the bearings out with a drift so they rock and gall on the aluminium and another to use heat and a bearing puller to pull them out straight.

I do the latter. The former works, but it's not right.

Also, I don't lever circlips out with a screwdriver.

Little details.....
Cheers,

Mark.

That's a great deal in my book. I’ll be in touch on the next one...

Just the finishing touches to come.

Body set and wheels now fitted. Have to say I’m pleased with the overall appearance..

Need to clean and refit the fuel tap (and check the vacuum operation).

Waiting for speedometer cable to arrive from Kawasaki.

Still need to source the correct side cover badges and the RH lower brake line guide (that mounts to the fender).

Pics from this evening..
