Apologies for not replying to the previous two posts.
@Gavin Looks like another MkII is being resurrected which is great.
@walshyco The finish on my wheels was a final lacquer finish.
The bike is now back in Japan - and I purchased an early '72 Z1 with the proceeds - I'll start a thread on that bike very shortly...

Thanks Nigel. Going a slightly different direction with this one - going to carefully clean / repaint some parts but aiming to keep as much originality as possible. Will start a new thread to explain..

Indeed, the big money now is for all original machines, so a wise move (from a financial standpoint).
Got a chance of a late production z1 which is all original - just waiting to find out how much the seller wants and if I can afford it...
Will be watching yours with interest!
