KZ900a4 Restoration
Unregistered KZ900a4 Delivered by Alan, A&M Express Services.
So here we go again
Someone had to buy it
Date codes on the Wheels, Swing Arm and Torque Arm showing July/Aug 1975
Original Panels etc, Hazard Switch & annoying indicator beeper.
Paintwork not bad but not to my liking......
Oh, and the mandatory front mudguard fitted backwards

Re: KZ900a4 Restoration
Nice, I saw that advertised and enquired with the seller about the tank paintwork as he seemed to say it was original, which it obviously isn't.
Looks like a good, solid purchase - will look forward to seeing what you do with it.

What height were the "Ape hangers" you wanted Steve?
Re: KZ900a4 Restoration
Had a chance today to take off a few bits and give it a good wash.
Everything seems to be there and original ,
So plan is -
New paint, Diamond Dark Green.
Re-Paint Frame and Swing Arm.
Re-Plate nuts and bolts etc.
Replace Spokes and Tyres (Rims both good original).
Chain guard.
Re-Chrome Mudguards, Indicator stems.
Fit decent Exhaust.

Re: KZ900a4 Restoration
So far no problems.
Most parts should clean up nicely
Still intend to paint frame, swingarm and battery box etc.

Re: KZ900a4 Restoration
Keep the photos coming, ,,, looking good.
Re: KZ900a4 Restoration
Managed to spend a bit of time on the bike at the weekend.
Wheels are back on and the engine will go in tomorrow.
Photo 3 shows the bike with copex wrapped around the vulnerable frame paint.
I find that the copex that is already split down the length is easy and quick to apply and protects really well.
We move house in three weeks and the bike has to be complete by then
