Nice. Looks pretty similar to mine in terms of condition. Good to see you have the airbox. But sadly, like me also, no original seat.
What's your plans?

Hi,
It will get a full strip when it gets to me.So,i guess i'll start with the frame up. Depending on what I find along the way will dictate the speed of progress. I can see a few non original bits and this is not a great problem to me as I will be building it to a fairly original theme as opposed to bone stock. I don't mind period accessories so it will look slightly modified. I have a good description of the bike from the vendor so i'll see if I can work out how to post it.

That exhaust is indeed foul....I can't see one redeeming feature about it....I'll likely be going for a V+H :D :D :D :D

Hi Simonic

welcome to the ST owners club !!!! A great bike! You'll love it! It seems to be in running condition. If you want to restore it to original specs you can allways ask advice, don't be shy!
The most difficult part is the original exhaust but you'll put a V&H on it, OK for me.
Get a new handle bar, find a rubber bunge to put over the kickstart shaft, find a rear mudguard and go!
Let the good times roll !!!

Hi Steve.
Thank you for getting in touch. It's most interesting that you are running the Delkevic as this is one of the exhaust options i'm considering.
Which end pipe did you go for ?
What is your opinion on the system as a whole please?
Cheers
Simon

Hi Simon.
Just using the pipe that came with the exhaust,it was easly to fit,the finsh is good and you can change the oil and fitter with it fitted, and i think it sounds ok,and the price is ok.

Hi Simon

how is your project going? Is the bike allready at your home? If so, take some more pics and show us what you have, we're curious!
Greetings from Belgium

Hello Philippe,
Yes. I have the bike at home now.
I tried to start it but the fuel flow was poor.Just a few drips were coming thru even with the tap on prime.
So i took the tank off and rigged a supply bottle.
The engine then fired up straight away but is only running on 3 and a half cylinders.Number 2 is not firing correctly but its trying.I suspect the carbs will need cleaning so this is my next job. I have identified that they are a uk spec set of carbs with the help of another club member so i will buy a rebuild kit and get them ultrasonically cleaned.
The exhaust is pretty quiet so i could hear the engine and this was also quiet.
I'll get a pic of it in the garage later today for you.
Simon
