Hello every one , can any one tell me if z1000 st frame is different to a z1b or z1000a4 For get swinging arm ??

Depends what you mean by different.
Simply put, the frame is more like a mk2 but is wider at the swingarm pivot and has different mounts for the shafy swingarm compared to any of the other models.
If you are thinking of using one as a stock replacement frame for a Z1B or 1000 A4 then think again unless you have a frame jig and want to do a lot of engineering and welding.
If you are wanting one for a modded bike then they are ideal as the wider frame is more accommodating for the fittment of modern swingarms and will accept a 7/8" ths offset chain run for a 6" rim without notching the frame.

fairly different due to the st having a shaft drive. swinging arms not compatible at all.. what's the project? plenty of good advice available.. cheers mark

Just wondered if tank side panels tail peace were interchangeable for z9oo style z1b

You may get the tank and tail to fit but the side panel mounts on the frame will certainly need relocating.
Someone on here will probably have done or tried the swap and will be along with a definitive answer but for a better, quicker response i would edit the thread title and mention the bodywork swap.

definitely wider frame rails under the tank...so the teardrop tank won't fit.
I think only ST side panels will fit and the tail only accepts the ST/MKII tail. But I 'made' a ducktail fit a MKII.

berk magazine did an article on a bloke called Shelford, early eightites, he used a shaftie frame to build a mean 1260 it just looked like a normal puppy albeit an oil cooler custom swingarm gpz wheels, he got the cases Teflon coated at a place in burnley that's all I can remember

an ST frame is completely different compared to a Z1B frame. It's wider and heavier. If you have the skills you can fit a Z1B tank, side panels and duck tail on it but it will take a lot of work if you want it to look good at the end.
How it has to be done ? I don't know , I never did it myself but I saw pictures of it, only pictures! I never saw one in reality.

Someone I've helped out is using an ST frame for drag racing. It's a stronger frame and has a wider option for swingarms. Bodywork doesn't fit without a lot of work.
