Mine is an early Dresda without bracing. The one in your link is a later braced version I think. The bracing is also box section.
The one on the bike looks to have tubular bracing whick makes me think its a mod'd early Dresda.

swinging arm could be a davida maybe? in oct 81, aged 17; i bought a new H which i shared with my old man who used it to get to work n back as he worked permanent nights..we had it for 3 yrs n it never missed a beat after 20+ thousand miles in Scottish weather. great bikes, n very under-rated, normally by those who never rode one.it went through the original tyres and 2 sets of pirelli phantoms which handled great but were too soft a compound really, then i discovered me99's. good luck with the negotiations swirl.. m

I had a bad accident about 3 1/2 years ago and have a Z900 A4 chop, have spent a few quid on the motor, welded crank, 1045cc 71mm forged pistons, Andrews cams, ported head bronze valve guides, tsubaski Camilla cam chain, all sorts of other ape goodies, problem is I can't ride the chop as leg won't bend, so gonna transplant the engine out the chop into the Z1000 and vice versa, sell the chop and build the z1000 up for me, so it isn't gonna be back to standard, I've a Z900 tail and it looks to have a z9/1000 seat on it, so that will be getting changed, try And get it on the road with my motor in first and then start modiying

In fairness there is enough Z1000H left to put it back to almost stock, (with the exception of the fuel injection system) - Z1000H is commanding good money.

If it was mine I'd swap the top end and barrels over, to keep the engine numbers right and find a Z1000H seat.

But it is your bike so do what you want. Good luck with your project. :) :) :)

RALPHARAMA wrote:I personally wouldn't give more than a grand for it as you'll need to spend some serious bucks on it to make it halfway nice. What you have there is effectively a MKII with lots of bits missing but H numbers? There's a lot of original bits missing if you wanted to make it standardish.

GPZ B FI is much better, but no where near the same. On the H it's called EFI and DFI on the later GPZ.

To be a proper H it would need the pukka injection system.

A very niche bike with a limited following compared to say a Z900A4.

Rob on here is a massive fan of them and has loads of them so might be able to help get parts for it if you decide to buy it. It's like a wooden boat - buying it is the cheap part

Injection is DFI on the GPZ1100B2, GPZ1100B1 used the same injectors in the head system as the 1000H didn't it?

It is niche with a smaller following, but far fewer of them, so it balances out and prices are up there.

I've got a genuine front mudguard going up for sale soon, or the MK2 version in chrome is still available from Kawasaki.
Cheers,

Mark.

Just my humble opinion but I'm with the keep it an "H" guys.

Do some reversible mods and keep the original stuff.

Your bike your decision though :D

Cheers

This is one of my best mates (Bobbyz1085) Nov 72 Zeds, this is the inspiration for me and ultimately have something I can ride once I get my leg/body sorted, resale value is not a issue. I can see were you are coming from with only a 1000 being built and 200 being imported into the UK, 20 of them to Bristol apparently :D on a side notebefore I bought it I went to see bobbyz1085 shown him a picture of the bike, his words were that's my old bike from the 80's go and get it. So you can see were this gonna end sorry purists but it's the way of the people, bring on the revolution. (Think of it this way it makes your bikes worth more  )

I'd agree with keeping it as an H.
