Back in 73, I'd recon any prospective Z1A customer would be pretty pissed off if he got last years model!!
I know they overpainted the tank etc. and some of the parts may be old stock but I'm pretty sure no Z1A came with a black engine.

As I said earlier, the engine is Z1 with the engine number.
I have read on the classibikes webpage that a 'few z1a came decked out in the original livery.
Someone must be able to confirm this, I'll dig the article out.
