Took that odd blue handle bar off and did some more hours of TLC.
Will get correct chrome mirrors, rear brake lever and kickstarter next week.
Will have to register her and see, how she runs with that Z1-R exhaust.

Re: Just landed: Z1000 MK2
Hi Uli
your MK2 looks fantastic!
The original black Kawasaki mirrors are OK, the chrome mirrors were placed on the ST. In some European countries the MK2 recieved allso the chrome mirrors, I have no idea what kind of mirrors were placed on the MK2 in Germany.
I can only tell you this: keep the black mirrors, they are much more stable compared to the chrome ones. I have chrome mirrors on my ST and those start to vibrate from 4000 RPM...
As far as the Z1R exhaust is concerned, it should run fine. I have a Z1R exhaust on my ST-R and she performs very good.
If you can find an original MK2 exhaust just mount it, it's allways better. Ask Ludwig Pfaff in Germany to find an original exhaust, who knows...

Re: Just landed: Z1000 MK2
Thanks for your input, Philippe.
Germany had chrome mirrors on Z900 A4, Z1000, Z1R, MK2 and ST.
Any idea regarding those sticker? Mine is missing No.2 and 3. Not sure if they came on German bikes, will have to have a look in a German owners manual. Hope I can find one (at a reasonable price).
You don’t have one, par hazard? So we could swap with my French one.

Hi Uli
the airfilter decal won't be easy to find. Have a look at the website of "Diablo Cycle Reproduction Decals" in Canada. If they don't have it, perhaps they can make one...just ask.
The reason why those stickers are not reproduced is perhaps due to the fact that a lot of air silencers were taken off back in the days.
As far as the owners manual is concerned, I don't have a German one, only an English one and a few years ago I gave a French one away to a friend in France...
I prefer an English one, my native language is Dutch (Flemish).

Is it possible that it is the same as the Gpz 1100 B air intake caution warning sticker?

Still has that side stand switch.
Got chrome mirrors in good condition
Good candidates for quick-glo with some spare MK2 indicators and the throttle junction.
Cheers, Uli
