Searching for a chrome Chainguard for Z1B

#1 PostAuthor: Meilakj » Thu Aug 20, 2020 12:30 pm

Hi All ,

Not sure were I should post this , I am searching for a chrome chainguard that fits Kawasaki Z1B . I have bought one from Z fever in Germany , it it is not so much as I expected it.

I am looking for one that is similar in shape to the plastic one on the bike .

any help or guidance would be great .

Thanks

John

Hi John

a chrome chaingard was used on the Z900 Ltd and Z1000 Ltd, the "soft chopper" or custom bikes.
It was completely different in shape.
To my knowledge there was no chrome chaingard available from Kawasaki that had the same shape as the black plastic ones.
Maybe there was a manufacturer that made similar chromed chaingards as an after market part, but I don't know one...
If you're searching something put it in the "wanted ads", the correct place to ask for it.

What Philippe Said.

There is a aftermarket chrome chain guard available but it's a very 'boxy' shape and nothing like the original.

Back in the Late70s and early80s the chrome chai guards I and others bought were sold by DragSpecialities of USA but could be made easily now. They mounted on original and were right angle chrome which at rear followed curve of sprocket even had one brass plated to look like gold lol fashionable then on my z1000A1 PWJ443R. Along these lines (see pics taken from the 'net) had one on my Z1B back in the early 80's think it came from Hadleigh Custom - now long gone (bike and shop)
