A few weeks ago I met fellow Zeder, "Zedi Knight" at Matlock. He arrived on a very nice looking green A4 & parked just opposite where I was stood, drinking an expensive coffee & watching the world go by !!
We had a good chat & he said he was having a bit of trouble posting pictures so I offered to post some for him, not that I'm an expert myself, (us old codgers seen to struggle for some reason doing this, God knows why !! :D ).
Hopefully, below, should be the first two of the forks & swingarm & the engine as he got them. This was the start of his build !
I'm sure he will be along soon to fill in all the blanks & supply more pictures, which is what we all like to see !

No idea why there are two copies of the forks & swingarm, there wasn't in the "Preview" !!
Obviously I'm only slightly better that Zedi Knight at this !!

Sorted, only one set of forks now !!

Some words from Ray,

I have to start by saying I have never done anything like this before.
So it was all new to me. All I had to go by was my Z1a,
Which you find out is no good , when it comes to the electrics ( on different sides)
So it was over to my mate, Martin in Hull (Prowler Z1) Who was going to rip the engine to shreds.
So that I could get all the ally cleaned & polished up, before he could rebuild it.
It was in them moments, that you think is a good idea.
Especially when he phones you up and says, that the barrels are shot (Bored to within a Zilly metre
Of not having any liner left), And that all cam chain, rollers, bearings etc etc etc are scrap,
As well has a few bent valves.
Ho the joys of being a nutter that likes Zeds.
So upwards & onwards .
I must have phoned ever bike scrapper in the country before I found a frame ?
For a T reg Z1000.
So when that arrived, it was quickly chopped in a couple of places around the battery box area,
And to get rid of a couple of lugs for the rear master cylinder.
A new bit welded on, across the frame, and then off, to be powder coated.
A Couple of days later, along with all the debagged engine, got this lot back.

To be continued.
Ray
