Model??

Hi,
I'm starting into a restoration.
I got my old Z1000 back after many years. I always though it was a straight ELR, however, when I started looking into restoring it, I suspected it was a modified J. The model is KZ1000-J2-R1.
However I came across a document on this site giving the spec on American, SA, European and Canadian Z1000R's and the frame no. 'KZT00R 005688' of my bike appears to be an original ELR? I cant quite make out the engine no yet but it also is shapping up to be a match for the European bikes.
The no.s on the reference document are in the range KTZ00R-001101- for frame and KTZ00JE039301- for the engine.
Can anyone tell me the exact model I have?
P

Frame number looks to be a 'Euro zone' 1983 Z1000 R2.

The 1000Rs went up to about 6500 or thereabouts the prefix was different for US and Europe - JKAKZ for US, KZT00R for Europe. So yours looks like a Euro R.

It would be unusual for a ELR’d J to have details like a black chrome grabrail and black labels on the callipers but then J clocks... My R had GPz A1 clocks on when I got it, luckily I got most of the originals too they’re quite hard to find.

TBH I don't know what the ELR clocks look like, I'm take your word that the clocks on mine are J's The bike was imported to Ireland before I bought it as the new type reg (Year, County, no.) was introduced in '87 the bike is 83. If it was a Euro bike the speedo would have been in KM's perhaps they were changed out with the nearest thing available to make it legal, as they are now MPH and KPH.
I started striping it down today and the plastic cover over the Hbar nuts was cut with a knife to fit in under the Odemetr. so it does seem to point to something not quite right.
