Grant Saunders frame

Just picked up an aftermarket frame + swingarm from the late 70s/ 80s(???) Looks like there is some crash damage caused by the chain jumping the sprockets. The frame is bronze welded Reynolds 531 tubing ( I 'm told) . Anyone know of who would be a good bet for a frame assessment/ repair? I wondered about Harris Performance as 1 choice. ( Grant used to work for Harris apparently before going out on his own)

Someone with a motoliner jig would be a good place to start I’d have thought

there's definitely repairs needed. Motoliner might say if it's bent but then send it back and I'd have then to send it to someone else to repair. I was hoping for someone who did knows a straight frame AND does repairs would save on transport costs etc
Unless - Motoliner will cut out and bronze weld in the necessary sections??

I remember reading an article on grant saunders setting up as a motorcycle manufacturer on his own, Bike magazine early eighties I think,, yes he did work for Harris for a while,,,,,,
Could try a custom frame builder for repairs,,Brill maybe at custom cycles.

Harris will take on work like this.
But they are not cheap or quick I believe.
Worth talking to them though.

Give John Warrington in Malton a shout. He'll probably be able to sort you out.
I'd leave it until the new year though as he was closed yesterday when I drove past.

I had the same with a Moto Martin frame. Chain came off and sawed through lower frame rail. Martin frames are incredibly thin walled and have to be brazed. Very few people around that braze but i can thoroughly recommend Pete Sutton. He's based just outside Bath. 07966 582434. He not only repaired my frame but straightened and built a cradle to properly brace and support the Unitrak motor in it.

yes it was advertised recently. 2 year project I guess. I'll follow up some of these leads. I don't know how many frames he made but this one is numbered in single figures. sorry to be cagey

I actually made an offer on it, but the guy ignored his phone all weekend, by the time I got hold of him it was sold so I bought this for £100 and I'm having a tank made

Not sure, it's been through a few hands, had got a SABTVR vin stamp, so I'm currently trying to get the reg number, I've got the guys number it come from 3 owners ago, so he maybe able to give me a bit more info on where it has come from, it's having a GS1000 turbo in it, that's why I was interested in the Saunders as at one point in it's life it had a GS1000 turbo lump in.
