1400 Mk2 Restomod

Finally got a parcel from Italy with my Tarozzi rear sets. First problem was that the mounts wouldn't fit on the frame studs.. which were new. Needed to open the holes of the bracket slightly to fit.

won't be using the standard master cylinder, as I don't have one, so will use a Brembo instead, and mount it on the outside of the side panel. But first, I need to move the lever which will attach to the pushrod, as when it came out of the box, it's in the wrong place.

It seems to be held in place by a pin, but not sure how this part of the lever comes apart.

Anybody know?

Just adjusted one on my Zed.

You’ll need to take the foot peg off the mounting bracket.
Undo 02-0030 from bolt 02-0010.
Which separates the mounting bracket from the foot peg

You then need to undo 02-0022 which is threaded onto foot peg.pin should be removable.
Place 02-0020 where you wish.
Slot peg in place reassemble. Job done.

Thanks for that, I tried to gently unscrew the part 03-0022 as it had a knurled edge,but wasn't sure so didn't apply too much force on it. Will try again tomorrow. Cheers

Made a mount for the rear master cylinder, next need to mount its reservoir behind the side panel..





Meanwhile its a bit cold to be working in my unheated garage at the moment, so loosely assembled the Z1000A1 cases in my living room. The head still needs to go off to Camcoat to be given a ceramic coating to match the cases. The head was the one the machine shop dropped and broke six fins.

The ZRX swing arm was already in the frame when I bought the project, so no idea really.

I surprised myself yesterday, as I managed to push the MK2 up hill and down dale over two miles to my mates workshop where we will will fit its newly rebuilt engine tomorrow. Doubt I could push it home with the extra weight of the engine, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. The flat bits are ok, but any incline is hard work.

A half hour job took all afternoon, but the engine is in the frame at last, barrels and head can be fitted with the engine in the frame. Still need to mod a couple of engine brackets. One of the rear ones, which also holds up the battery box had been drilled to 12mm in its old life, so need to get that welded up and re-drilled to 10mm. While the two lower engine bolts are a little too short now I'm using billet mounting brackets. Now I now how short, new longer bolts have been ordered.
