GPz1100 uni-trak

I took possesion of this one recently.I got it from Phil at Z-power who had owned it for a couple of years.Prior to that it had been off the road since '97. Here is how it arrived to me

It's an Italian bike in white. The guy who imported it kept all the import paperwork including the purchase reciept.Seems like he registered it,ran it for a year and then stored it away fro some reason.
At some time a lot of work had been done to the bike.It had been totally stripped with the frame and many other parts being powder coated. All the suspension linkages look like new and it has a brand new chain and sproket kit.I'm not sure if this work was done in Italy or when it was over here and Phil does not know either.

As the bike had not been run for so long i was concerned that the injectors may be full of solidified fue so isent them off to injectortune to be cleaned. You can see the difference in flow from the attached graph

The fuel filter looked like it had seen better days and after looking at the price of a genuine K replacement found this one which is from some sort of H@nda car

That is lovely, I'm very jealous. I often look at those as I'd love one, but regretfully I've not got anywhere to store it.

The fuel tap was missing so with the help of Phillipe i found an NOS one in Germany and got it shipped over.

Might try to pick one up for my next project before they rocket up in price.

Re the injectors, I suspect they may have been working fine before the cleaning.
The graph is a little deceptive with the Y-axis, whereas the before/after flow rate figures suggest they were pretty good already?
EDIT: I guess you're looking at a 1.5% difference to begin with, so should be smoother after cleaning.

Hi Rick.
You are probabaly quite right.I just wasn't sure if they were good or not. At least now i know they are good and it would have been one less thing to trouble shoot if i ran into running prolems later on

I’m running a couple of 750 turbos and the fuel filter is the same for all the old Kawasaki fuel injection bikes

I got a battery and turned on the ignition. All the lights worked but the fuel pump was not priming. After a few days of soaking it in various things and tryiny to get it to go on the bench i admitted defeat and started to source a new one.I posted on the fb GPz1100 group and a guy called John from Rotherham got in touch with a link to the 750 turbo forum.These guys are really switched on regarding fuel injection and i found a pic of a Bosch equivalent to the Kawasaki pump.
The Bosch pump is different in that the exit come straight out and the Kawasaki one is at 90 degrees. As you can see in the pic a banjo has been fitted to give the 90 dgree turn and a cap fitted on the end so that's what i did too
