Z1000r refurb
Hi, Just a few pictures of what I've been at over the last 15 months or so. I'm starting to get close!!
I think I nearly crashed the site putting up pictures so I'll try a few small batches.
Sound advice always welcome.

This one is before I started BTW, not what I've finished with!!

the differences between a little boy and an adult man is the price and size of their toys!

Tell me about it. Some one who doesn't suffer this disease will never understand! If 'her self' realised the time and money I have spent...

After years of bikes many of us have honed the fine art of hiding most of the financial facts, but I have a sneaking suspicion ( I can tell by the roll of the eyes) they know a lot more than they let on.

Yes, There's only so many times you can say 'I won it in a raffle!'

Very impressive, great documentation!
Did all the color came off like that just with vapour blasting?
Cheers, Uli

Hi Uli,
I have photos somewhere of the casings stripped and cleaned. I used industrial stripper, much stronger than the stuff you buy over the counter. For any steel bracketry I used a mapp torch, just a quick flash was enough to blister the paint, it scrapped of easily when still warm or it would brush off with a wire brush once it cooled again. The photos I have here were probably after the inital go with the chemical stripper, most part took two goes, the brakes and the like took up to four goes.
The vapour blasting only took of any corrosion and very small specs so the items all had to be stripped before I sent them off. At least that is what I was told before I sent them off.
Thanks for looking
