It does make you wonder WHY? Just got to get it running to see what I've actually got.
Anyone want to buy a bespoke set of fairings? They fit a Z650 beautifully......

Try the Lambretta forum if you can find it.

Hi Pete

good find!
I hope you can get her running. In France they ask enormous prices for a Z650.
Keep us updated please.

Thanks Philippe, yeah they do especially if they've had the back end cut off, a brown slab seat and dropped bars.

It runs.

Didn't want to, the connecting block going to the coils was the issue, bit of contact cleaner sorted that.
All plugs were carboned up, one was dead and the others have a weak spark. I measured at the soldered joint on the condensers, 1 gave 12v, the other 9.5. I think I have a dodgy condenser because when it's closed and I open it the coil clicks. The bag of bits that came with it included old plugs (12) 1 new one, old fuel tap diaphragm, old clutch plates, old cam chain tensioner with guide, both rear indicators, old points and condensers (in kwak packaging so not Chinese) a bottle of fork oil, an old chain and 2 front sprockets, the sprockets look good, not looked at the chain yet. Hand written service history in a note book from 1983 until 2013

It ticked over on choke nicely, throttle responded well, carb 1 had a wee then it ran out of fuel and I'm not draining the ST or Zeph so left it at that. No horrible noises, a little white smoke from the exhaust, probably condensation after being sat for a year. On the whole, quite happy.
Oh and one key fits all and the engine number falls in with the frame.

Batfink is looking a bit more normal now.
I got the bars for the Zeph but they turned out not to be Zeph11 bars so have replaced the Ace bars. They are a little too low, the throttle cables and front brake line are a bit close for comfort and the clutch cable along with wiring has a little slack now but it's a bit better for the time being. Also got the rear (original Stanley) indicators on. They still need opening up a tad more to get completely onto the splines. It was more a case of checking electrics because the wires had been cut and had to be resoldered and heatshrinked.

Whilst playing with the wiring, the tail light assy wasn't connected and with the ignition on the 'stop' warning flashed, so I presume that works.
