Did some work to tie up the rear end on the z1000 ST conversion, making sure the wheel is aligned before the swingarm gets welded up.

Just about everything ready for the 1075 mk2 engine build, just waiting on a heavy duty Mk2 cam chain ( was sent the wrong one) and it’s game on, iv a few days before it gets here, just about enough time for the rest of the prep work.

Worked on tying up the bottom end of my Z1000 st chain conversion, was sent the wrong heavy duty cam chain, took an age to get it back to the states and then back to me, then work happened. Installed the APE heavy duty main Bearing Studs, new bearings just about everywhere and new case bolts too. Before i bolted it all up i made a plug in place of the kickstart that im not using, that way the kickstart chamber wont fill up faster than it can empty.

Working away in the backround, designing and building Cbr900rr fork extensions, gained 70mm back off the Cbr showa forks getting the bike to a real decent height off the ground (240mm) and on Irish back roads thats a help. Also made this set and the 2 other sets im building in this run enough extra for the above headstock clipons.

Haven't posted on my Z1000 projects in a while, to many irons in the fire right now, had a free Sunday so i finally got around to saving a frame from the skip. Bought this kz1000 ( Nebraska built) A2 of a fella for small money. Some chap had decided to mono shock it...but just welded everything in his garage to it and cut off just about everything om the sub frame he could. After he failed miserably to make a bike he threw it in a ditch.

I kinda just powered on through it, didn't stop for photos.. anyone interested in how just ask but the jist is i made 4mm wall lugs and a jig, left 5mm space for weld so when it was jigged up the frame ends were welded to both each other and the lugs. Tomorrow morning it will cutting off the crap from the old butchering and full on bracing.

Then weld it all on in all the usual places, is never going to be a stock bike again so what works works.
