Bought 18 months ago and imported from the US. Owned from new by the previous owner and is now undergoing a full restoration.
One of the last "pre Molly" examples, so these had all the upgrades of the TCII without the black paint job.
Obviously it's had many engine rebuilds over the years (no surpsise there then) but I can clearly see the results of the utterly stupid "water injection" kit that was fitted to it :eek
It also needed a crankcase repair (dry area) due to a snapped chain but the crankcases have now been repaired & painted, with the top end being removed, inspected, painted, upgraded and refitting within the next 2 weeks or so.
The previous spent quite a bit on the motor prior to sale: new 1166cc kit (7.8:1CR), welded crank, windage plate, APE crank studs, APE cyl studs.
Upgrades are full deep sump, MTC lock-up clutch with 35mm clutch cover spacer, cyl head overhaul (valve lap, stem seals etc), MLS head gasket, vernier cam sprockets, cam cover breather, Dyna 2000 with boost retard, Dyna coils, MTC leads, Mikuni HSR42, full stainless triangular air filter. I have also upgraded the 370 Rajay turbo to the same spec as my old Silver Saxon so it'll go like a good un.
Should be ready within the next 6 weeks or so.

Front end now fully in, back end next.
As stated the block, head and cam cover will be refinished within the next few weeks.
I pretty much did all the modifications prior to strip, this includes making a new LH pillion peg mount to clear the big silencer, which Kawasaki USA obviously couldn't be arsed to allowing melted boot all over it. I also had to kick the exhaust silencer up by 4 degrees to allow the side stand to retract all the way, again unlike Kawa USA who just thought it'd be perfectly acceptable for the stand to dent the pipe and stick out
Another subtle change is that all the chrome on the Z1R has been refinished in bright nickel to match all the turbo exhaust pipework.
More pics soon.
