Re: Z1B's on the West coast.
Just blew the budget of €1500 on parts and thats minus the exhaust, front mudguard and a few other parts that will be picked up if i survive not eating for the next month..I decided to go dual front brakes (both new Z1, calipers and disks) progressive fork springs that added to the YSS shocks for riding but Z1 "mock stock shocks" if im going to a show and braided goodridge hoses, because i live where the roads are like roller coasters and i don't want to die.
Here is a quick mock up of where i am. As my grandmother used to say, "mock up to prevent a cock up".

Yes sir, im getting to the point now where im trying to gather the last of the parts bar the exhaust. I would like to get it on its wheels, wired, engine (full crank up build) sorted and in, carbs rebuilt and installed, bodywork painted and if i can get it running by September id be smiling.

So frame is good as done, 2k gloss black on powder coat with an adhesion promoter in between, should be good for another few years.
Time to sort out the hubs and the swing arm later today.
First of 4 big orders came yesterday, €1400 doesnt go that far on a Z1 build.

Another lot of new parts came today mostly electrical and few bits iv already horded for this bike.
And just to explain that the pics of the parts is not me being narcissistic but a way of cataloging what parts are new and what is restored and when im putting what on to this build.

Thanks Chris
So im fairly happy witht he way bracing on the frame turned out after paint, kinda looks like the bracing on the down tubes of a Z1r, nearly looks like its meant to be that way but not quite.
Time to start bolting some shite onto the frame.

Re: Z1B's on the West coast.
Still tipping away at gathering all the parts, she is still a dry build for now, waiting on a few parts for the bottom end of the engine and i have one more shopping cart besides the exhaust to buy. The exhaust ill just sell a kidney at the end of the year.Im also building my Z1r up too so the food bill is shared between both of them at the moment.
I decided to go with a twin disk and both calipers and disks are off the shelf, im not fooling my self into thinking this isnt a 30% off the shelf build but i have kept some of the chrome (bar the exhaust, rims and grab bar) used off stock bikes( mud guards and headlight mounts and trim) , i like the age and few blemishes and dents stock chrome has.
Maybe if the rain stops for a few days ill do the paint work, while i have an extractor fan paint booth it pulls air from outside and there is just too much moisture in the air right now. The Gusseting on the frame is slow dispersing into the backround, well to my eyes anyways.

No wife no strife, girlfriend lives in the city and wont come out to where i live as its "too far" bought a big house when prices were low. but it came with a small garage that houses all my other bikes, paintshop, and work equipment, there are 3 bike is the kitchen too...
many say im crazy but these are the therapy not the illness.
