Poor mans Mk 2 . Not for the purists .

I had an idea recently to build a poor mans version of the once un loved but now sought after Mk 2 Z1000. I have bought a 1000 S T frame , a couple of panels . Having a few other projects and parts about I had already found some ZZR1400 wheels and swing arm (190 tyre ) which were going into another build but a slight change in direction and there is enough room in the back of the S T frame and spare .
Using a set of empty cases in the frame to look at chain alignment and the stance I slotted a few parts together earlier. I have a late Bandit K6 (I think) front end for the forks etc will try the ZZR wheel . Billet yokes will be used to obtain a decent off set . Hope to have it rolling in a fashion in the next day or two .
Not the best pics due to the surrounding clutter but you get the gist :jake

Good start :D get the sprocket carrier and rear sprocket on there, with the front and the back sprockets on and running true (laser is best as even a piece of steel can have a few mm run off) see what space there is between the sprocket carrier and the swing arm and the rear brake mount, the swing arm can be offset but the wheel needs to be true.

P.s a bandit1200 Mk1 and 2 rear end will fit in there like a glove and are fairy cheap to buy right now.

Yes I only put it together to see how it looked etc. I have another Z on the go but another to upset some . Blandit engine and running gear going in it. :biggrin

I think you should build what you want to build, all theses frames and parts are all that they are until someone takes them and builds a running bike from nothing, long as we make them safe us and those that come after us. have you seen this bike for sale at the moment?

Not a lot of progress , bought a tank today , seat on the way. Offered up ZZR1400 peg and master cyl , will need some bespoke mountings making . The ZZR wheel is in the front will need some disc carriers and a few bits sorted / altered but nothing too phasing . Bandit yokes will be okay , steering stop will work .
