SO we have a split opinion - 3 say they are the wrong way up, 3 say they are how they are shown to be in the manual. :-) Anyone want to cast a decider? I'm guessing either a) it'd different for a 650 over a z1/thou or b) there's aesthetic reasons why the dyna coils might go upside down.

I can try them upside down and see if it fits, but the tank is still in protective packaging so it'll be a while....

Mothra, after seeing the close up pictures Taffus has posted, I would say they deffo mount underneath, difference with the Z1000 is mounts are inside the frame rails, where yours are outside. As for which way they should face?............ Think I'll stay out of that one!

God, Dodgy, no it's been really interesting. For me anyway... :-)

And thanks to Taffus' photo I've now got a pretty good idea how I should be routing my cables. Which is not the way I was doing it... :-)

The bikes looking nice. Were the fork legs any use?

Raf, there's a long story behind that - I think my forks are from the later, h2 donor bike, so I couldn't use one forkleg as a replacement as planned as they are different; however I think I may have made a pigs ear of the oil seals and I'd also like to fit billet dustcovers etc, so I think I'm going to build up your forks as spares once I've finished the bike, then swap over when I've finished them.

Did you finish the shocks?

Stu, I've taken the chrome springs from the shocks I got from you and will be replacing the black springs from the one's on my Z900 which have been polished.
I may use your one's on my z1000 a2 project if I ever get around to sorting it out or pass them on if I sell the bike as a project.
