Back to the Drouin. Here's a pic of the back end. Swing arm is XJR1300 SP (chosen coz its got that JMC look) and needed narrowing at the pivot which i did with a home made cutter using the bearing tube as a guide. wheel is zx7r on fireblade spindle with new disc and caliper is suzuki Srad on zxr hanger and 8mm machined off sprocket carrier, all wheel spacers etc are ally, Torque arm is rose jointed one off and shocks are Gsx 1400 with yellow springs for that fake ohlins look.

Slots in swingarm are much larger than wheel spindle. I made adjuster blocks with integral sleeve to take up the difference.

Zed1015,

That 'BEAST' is getting better by the day. Good to see you're making such good progress.
Was wondering if you could 'enlighten' me on how your lockstops work. Is that some kind of adjuster on the frame?
I am not looking to 'Rip Off' anybodys ideas, but a bit of 'inspiration' wouldn't go amiss. :resp :enuff

Lockstop is now't special, just made one narrower than needed (using steel from an old z1000 engine sprocket ) then added threaded adjusters that can be spaced with washers/spacers to fine tune steering lock as close to tank as i dare and get most out of the reduced lock that resulted from using the modern zx9 yokes

Have decided to make a new pulley guard as the original cast one is too bulky , too seventies and i do not want to cut it about. This is attempt one using 3mm ally sheet from a stray road sign kindly donated by a friend at the council. I cut out the flat pattern and folded it along the long front edge then after curving the remaining side strip over the top and bottom radius welded it up. I've cut a couple of rough holes to show the pulleys and to give me an idea how it will look.( think it needs more cutting about ).I would like to leave the pulleys exposed as i think it looks the biz but i really need something to stop me flares getting shredded. This attempt has turned out a bit on the large side as can be seen in pic one so am having another go tomorrow. All comments welcome. [img]

Zed 1015, that's lookin' really good. I agree a few more hole's would be good. Are you gonna polish the finished item?

Found these on ebay, should help with the 'flares'

Might do it black to compliment the alloy pulleys but maybe put in some polished alloy windows with stainless screws to give a bit of technical detail. Time will tell.
