I am sure the pics will get a lot of views and some nice comments.

Are you gonna import the bikes when you come back over here??

From Mark

Yes Mark - I have the Z1, a ZRX and an RZ350 I just bought, that I will bring back with us. Wife wont allow any more. I also have a Z1B that I was going to keep until the Z1 came up. Also have a mint 74 Trident.

I couple of weeks ago I had 10 days holiday in California, up as far as Monterey.
Beautiful place, lovely people and amazing food- even if there were no mushy peas.
Are you sure you want to leave?!!
Nice bikes.

It was a very small track set in a disused quarry at Longridge near Preston. A couple more pics from there:

On the grid #15 behind is an 1971 H1.

Then later in the season I put a Rickman fairing on it. I got a good start on lap 1, but couldn't keep up with the RD350s on that track. The winner (number 11 on an RD350) was Phil Mellor who became a works Suzuki rider and was tragically killed at the 1989 TT. My memory is that Phil Mellor was a nice bloke, but I can't remember why I think that, possibly I chatted to him at Snetterton in the mid 80s.

We live about 40 min from Monterey. It is pretty. This is the second time I moved to the US through work. It's good for a few years, then you really miss the British sense of humour. too much politics and religion too - even in california

I went to California twice in the late 90s, furthest north we went was Eureka, furthest south probably Palm Springs, enjoyed both trips.
My aunt has lived in Suisun since the late 70s - her husband was in the USAF, and California has to have more appeal than Leiston in Suffolk.

Welcome from me too Don, I'm new here and the welcome has also been very friendly. What a stunning Z1, I can see why your'e bringing it home! But I think I would also bring back the Z1B - great old racing photos too.
