Hi all - new member in Surrey

#1 PostAuthor: GPZ592 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 8:56 pm

Hi All,

I never really know what to put on these "intro" posts, so here's some stuff about me.

I recently joined the forum after lurking around as a guest for some months, after a couple of mates with Zeds put me onto the forum. I didn’t have a Zed back in the day and I still don’t have one now, but there’s something about a big aircooled Kwak that stirs the soul :)

I have a pair of aircooled GPzs in the garage – a 1982 550 (which I’ve owned from new) and a 1982 750. The 550 has been off the road for a few years and is awaiting a rebuild. The 750 is a special with different frame, running gear, big bore kit, CR carbs, etc. I also have a 1977 KH400 which is a little rough around the edges, but is great fun to ride.

I have found a lot of useful information for my own bikes/projects on this forum and hope to be able to contribute something along the way.

Mark.

Welcome

My bank account wishes I'd never bought a big Z, on the other hand I haven't enjoyed owning a bike as much in years.

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum, are you by chance the owner of the rather delightful P&M that was parked up opposite my ZXR750 at Cadwell last year?

Sounds good to me, Swampy. Are there many forum members down this neck of the woods ?

Yes Dave, that was me. Thoroughly enjoyed Cadwell - can't make this year as it clashes with a family wedding  But I will be at Donington for the CBT Trackday and 4 Hour endurance :up

Hi Al - no worries. It was good to chat with you & Dave at Cadwell. I thought some of the Zed owners I spoke to would be on here somewhere.

I'll try to post a couple of photos, but I currently don't have a photo hosting account anywhere and I'm not paying PB to do it !

Dont bother with PB in my opinion its an absolute waste of time. If you trust me, e-mail it and i'll put it up. I use PB but that situation wont last forever.
By the way; Darin and Rob (owner / operators of CBT ) are on here as well.

Welcome from me too Mark (Farnham, Surrey), I've had a number of Zeds in years gone by, but got back into biking last year and bought a 93 FireBlade - will be on the hunt for a good Z900 when the planets align...........

Cheers
Andrew

Al - Thanks for offering to put up the picture of my 750 for me. In the end, I re-enabled my old Imagshack account. It cost a few quid, but at least it means the photos I've posted on other forums will reappear !

Anyway, here is the 750 at Cadwell

And the 550 awaiting a rebuild
