Evening all. Just joined this site. Some luvverly machines here. I've been a Suzuki man all my days but dont hold that against me . I've just obtained the only other bike in the world i would have that wasnt partly Suzuki. A 1975 Z900-A4. I already have a 1978 GS1000, A 1991 GSXR1100 and a Harris Magnum with a turbocharged GSXR1216 engine. There should be a picture attached of the Kawasaki!!!!!! but if not i'll try again. There are a few mods to this one and it needs a fair bit of work. Just trying to decide if standard or modified would suit it best. They do look stunning standard but i dont really do standard. We'll see.

Keep the hubs and have wide 17" rims laced to them
Upgrade the brakes
Repaint the swingarm black

P frame refers to an American Police bike frame. You can tell by the exhaust hangers in this instance.

The frame number would also indicate a P. It's a good starting point for a decent bike Go mod!!!

A police bike? There is no P in the frame number, Its Z1F-095792. Does this make it a police bike then? What other differences are there? Cheerz

Kawasaki were quick to sell the Z1 to the various police forces of America. From as early as 1974 right up to present day. The letter C in their frame number identifies these bikes. Models after 1981 were known as the KZ1000-P. They were finished in white and fitted out in all the police gear. The popular seventies TV series 'CHIPS' brought them to everybody's attention. Quite a few of them have found their way to Europe and there is even an owners club for them, where owners dress up like Californian highway patrol officers and ride around the country posing!

If yours definitely is not a Police bike frame, someone has hacked the original exhaust hangers off
and welded Police frame exhaust hangers on instead.

It's not a P with that number - the hangers don't matter if you're building a modified bike.

You can buy replacement hangers from weblike in Japan and weld them on.
