Hello all
I'm back on the road after a number of years and signed up to the club after discovering they now allow specials.
I've owned my Z1000R Moto Martin since the late 80s after owning a Z1000A1, GPz1100B1 and GPz1100B2. After 10 years of ownership it was looking tired, so I stripped it down and started what turned out to be a very long rebuild process. I've had a few bikes since, but always kept the Martin even when I stopped riding about 8 years ago. Hitting 50, I realized it was now or never, so with the help of Debbens (they really do deserve a mention in the club mag) its finally back on the road.
There's too much to list in terms of modifications, but essentially its a 1983 Z1000R Moto Martin, 1328CC engine built by Debbens (including their in house heavy duty clutch mod), NWS Swinging arm, EXUP RU forks and wheels, ceramic coated Moto Martin exhaust (refurbed by Debbens), M900 seat unit, aftermarket fairing, and a rather nice GPz Firecracker Red paint job.
Here's the finished article:
